TREMproof® PUMA below grade waterproofing systems are cold-applied liquid polyurethane methacrylate (PUMA) membranes that offer superior elongation and durability versus traditional MMA/PMMA systems. They waterproof concrete slabs, protecting occupied areas underneath from water intrusion and damage. TREMproof PUMA waterproofing system applications include Asphalt Overlay, Flashing, Decorative Flashing, Planters and Horizontal projects like split-slab and paver systems.

A: Primers

Tremco PUMA Primer is a two-component primer that promotes maximum adhesion to porous and non-porous substrates.

B: Base Coats

Tremco PUMA BC (Base Coat) bonds firmly to Tremco PUMA Primer, and retains its integrity regardless of substrate movement, up to 1/16”.

C: Wear Coats

Tremco PUMA WC (Wear Coat) is loaded with aggregate to give the finished system excellent impact, abrasion and chemical resistance.

D: Top Coats

When needed for aesthetic/flashing applications, Tremco PUMA TC (Top Coat) offers excellent UV-stability, abrasion and chemical resistance. It can even be field-tinted to over 70 colors, or finished with decorative quartz or flakes.

Frequently Asked Questions

PUMA technology can be used in both traffic coating (Vulkem EWS) and below grade (TREMproof PUMA) applications.

Concrete shall be water cured and attain a 4000 PSI minimum compressive strength for vehicular or heavy duty traffic and 3000 PSI minimum for pedestrian, buried or non-traffic bearing systems. All concrete shall be shotblast to a ICRI CSP #3-#4 finish. Moisture content in the concrete must be lower than 6% as measured using a Tramex CME 4 Moisture Meter. Depending on concrete construction and job site location, additional concrete testing may be required. Please contact your local Tremco Sales or Technical Representative.

Each layer of all PUMA technology systems cure in 30-45 minutes and the next coat can be applied at that time. In fact, they can be opened up to traffic one hour after installation is complete.
