After losing their home to wildfires, The Morris family carefully selected to construct their new home with new fire resistant building materials.

The Morris family witnessed firsthand the importance of building resilient homes, when they experienced the devastating Marshall Fire in December 2021 that consumed their house and 100 others in the area. Their previous home was constructed with traditional wood framing that gave them minimal time to evacuate and left their home, along with its contents, in ashes. Seeking a safer solution for the rebuild, the Morris family turned to Insulated Concrete Forms (ICFs) in combination with Prebuck and other fire-resistant Tremco CPG materials which offered them a greater sense of security when designing their new home.
They chose Nudura ICFs, which provide a 4-hour fire rating compared to the 45-minute rating of typical wood structures. To further enhance their home’s fire resistance, the Morris family utilized Prebuck Buck Framing to target the weak points of buildings during fire exposure. Prebuck framing is an environmentally friendly non-corrosive material designed for direct contact with concrete. Together, these building materials gave the Morris' a comfortable and reliably fire-resistant home for years to come.
